Who are the Oath Keeper's?

The Oath Keepers is a far-right, anti-government American organization that identifies itself as a non-partisan association of current and former military, law enforcement, and first responders. The group was founded in 2009 by Stewart Rhodes, a former Army paratrooper and Yale Law School graduate.

The Oath Keepers' stated mission is to defend the United States Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The group believes that the government has become too powerful and that its members need to take steps to protect their rights and freedoms.

The Oath Keepers are known for their controversial views on issues such as gun rights, immigration, and federal government overreach. They have been involved in several high-profile incidents, including the 2014 Bundy standoff in Nevada and the 2021 storming of the U.S. Capitol.

The group's goals and actions have been widely criticized by many as being potentially dangerous and threatening to democracy. The Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights organization, has designated the Oath Keepers as an extremist organization.
