On Nothingness

Humans are naturally curious creatures, and we have a strong desire to understand the world around us. This includes understanding the concept of nothingness or non-existence. There are many different ways that we grapple with this concept, and some of the most common include: Philosophy: Philosophers have been grappling with the concept of nothingness for centuries. Some of the most famous philosophers to have written on this topic include Plato, Aristotle, and Heidegger. Religion: Many religions have their own beliefs about nothingness or non-existence. For example, some religions believe in an afterlife, while others believe that death is the end of existence. Art: Artists have also explored the concept of nothingness or non-existence in their work. Some famous examples of this include the paintings of Caspar David Friedrich and the sculptures of Alberto Giacometti. Literature: Literature is another way that we grapple with the concept of nothingness or non-existence. Some f...

Consciousness

Consciousness is a complex phenomenon that is not fully understood by scientists. However, there are a number of theories about how consciousness works. One theory is that consciousness is an emergent property of the brain. This means that consciousness arises from the complex interactions of many different parts of the brain, rather than from any single part. Another theory is that consciousness is a form of information processing. This means that consciousness is the result of the brain processing information from the environment and from within the body. A third theory is that consciousness is a subjective experience. This means that consciousness is unique to each individual and cannot be objectively measured or observed. There is no single theory of consciousness that is universally accepted by scientists. However, all of these theories offer insights into how consciousness might work. Here are some additional details about the different theories of consciousness: The ...

Naturalism

Naturalism is a worldview that asserts that everything that exists is part of the natural world. This means that there is no supernatural realm, and that all phenomena can be explained by natural causes. Naturalists believe that science is the best way to understand the world, and that they should use reason and evidence to make decisions about their lives. There are many different types of naturalism, but they all share some common beliefs. Naturalists believe that the universe is governed by natural laws, and that these laws are not created or controlled by any supernatural being. They also believe that the human mind is a product of the natural world, and that our thoughts, feelings, and experiences are all caused by physical processes in our brains. Naturalism has a long history, dating back to the ancient Greeks. However, it was not until the 17th century that naturalism began to gain widespread acceptance. This was due in part to the development of new scientific theories, su...

The Black Dahlia

The Black Dahlia case refers to the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, a 22-year-old woman who was found brutally murdered in Los Angeles in 1947. Over the years, there have been many theories and speculations about who might have been responsible for her death, but none of them have been proven conclusively. Here are some of the most popular theories about the Black Dahlia case: 1. The Mob: One theory is that Elizabeth Short was killed by the mob because she was dating a man with mob ties. Some people believe that her murder was a message to him, or that she may have known too much about their activities. 2. A Serial Killer: Another theory is that Elizabeth Short was the victim of a serial killer who was active in Los Angeles at the time. Some people believe that the killer may have been a doctor or a surgeon, given the precise cuts on her body. 3. Adventures with Redcore Linux

Hello, fellow Linux enthusiasts! Today I want to share with you my experience of using Redcore Linux for the last few months. Redcore Linux is a Gentoo-based distribution that aims to provide a user-friendly and stable system without sacrificing performance and flexibility. Sounds great, right? Well, there is a catch: you have to build everything from source. Yes, you heard me right. Redcore Linux does not always provide binary packages for most of the software you need or want. Instead, you have to compile them yourself using the Portage package manager. This means that you have to wait for hours or even days for your system to be updated or installed. And don't get me started on the dependencies and the USE flags. It's a nightmare! But why would anyone subject themselves to such torture, you may ask? Well, I have a few reasons. First of all, I like to challenge myself and learn new things. Building from source is a great way to understand how Linux works and how to custo...

Black Tongue Reverend

Black Tongue Reverend's debut album, Northern Burden, was released on February 27, 2022. The album is a four-track EP that blends heavy psych, blues, and stoner rock. The album was written and recorded in the summer of 2021 in Willow Glen Studio (aka Eric's living room) for very little money and a vague idea what they were doing. The album has been praised by critics for its gritty sound and its ability to bring the atmosphere of the past into a modern and personal context. One reviewer called it "a wonderful debut release" and "the embodiment of grit." Another said it was "a good debut EP" that "offers a granite sound that mixes Heavy Psych with Blues, passing through Stoner." The album opens with the track "Texas Freeze," which is a heavy, bluesy rocker with a driving beat and a catchy melody. The second track, "Northern Burden," is a slower, more atmospheric song with a psychedelic edge. The third track, "D...

The Replacements

The Replacements were an American rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1979. Initially a hardcore punk band, they are one of the main pioneers of alternative rock. The band was composed of the guitarist and vocalist Paul Westerberg, guitarist Bob Stinson, bass guitarist Tommy Stinson and drummer Chris Mars for most of its existence. Following several acclaimed albums, including Let It Be and Tim, Bob Stinson was kicked out of the band in 1986, and Slim Dunlap joined as lead guitarist. Steve Foley replaced Mars in 1990. Towards the end of the band's career, Westerberg exerted more control over the creative output. The band was known for their energetic live performances, which often featured drunken and chaotic behavior. They were also known for their eclectic mix of musical styles, which drew on punk rock, power pop, and country music. The Replacements released 10 studio albums during their career, as well as several live albums and compilations. They disbanded in 199...

Deep Space Wanderers

Have you ever wondered why humans are so different from other animals on Earth? Why we have such advanced intelligence, language, culture, and technology? Well, I have a theory that might shock you: we are not native to this planet. We are actually aliens from deep space who crash landed here around the time of Neanderthal man and thrived. Sounds crazy, right? But hear me out. There is some evidence that supports this idea. For example, did you know that humans have more genetic diversity than any other species on Earth? That means we have more variations in our DNA than any other animal. This could be explained by the fact that we came from a different star system where there were many different races and sub-species of humans. Another clue is our blood type. Most animals on Earth have only one blood type, but humans have four: A, B, AB, and O. And some people have a rare antigen called Rh factor that makes them Rh positive or negative. This could be a result of interbreeding betwe...

An Echo In Time

I wrote this about 2009. The Rot Within: the time of american hegemony is over. the fractured state of american society and bilateral disfunction of the political apparatus are the main contributing factors. collective guilt, bankrupt corporate ethics and the lack of personal accountability fuel the disease that is killing the amerikan republik. the global neighborhood has caught a whiff of the decay and the buzzards are starting to circle. the potential for increased societal control of a mistrustful and mutually fearing population already divided by class and economics is at hand.

Watership Down

Watership Down is a 1978 British animated adventure film about a group of rabbits who escape the destruction of their warren and set out on a journey to find a new home. The film is based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Richard Adams. The film has been praised for its animation, music, and storytelling. However, it has also been criticized for its violence and dark themes. Some critics have argued that the film is too violent for children, while others have argued that it is a powerful and important story about survival and the importance of family and friends. The dark side of Watership Down is evident in the film's depiction of violence and death. The rabbits are constantly under threat from predators, and they are forced to fight for their lives. The film also depicts the death of several characters, including the death of Hazel's father. The film's dark themes have been criticized by some critics, who argue that the film is too violent and disturbing for ch...

Adventures In Rust

I was trying to compile my Rust project for the first time and I was not prepared for what I saw. The terminal was spitting out a lot of warnings and errors, some of them I didn't even understand. I tried to fix some of them, but it seemed like every time I fixed one, another one popped up. I started to laugh nervously, hoping that this was just a minor setback and not a sign that I had messed up everything. Maybe Rust was not the best choice for a beginner like me. Maybe I should have stuck with Python or something simpler. But I was determined to make this work, somehow. I just hoped that the compiler would not explode on me.

Dopesmoker...

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to fall asleep, you might want to try listening to Sleep 's Dopesmoker. This album is a single track that lasts for over an hour and consists of nothing but slow and heavy riffs, droning vocals and occasional bong hits. It's like a musical equivalent of a blunt: it will make you feel relaxed, hazy and maybe a bit paranoid. Sleep's Dopesmoker is not for everyone. Some might find it boring, repetitive or too loud. Some might even question the artistic merit of such a monolithic piece of stoner metal. But for those who appreciate the genre, this album is a masterpiece. It's a testament to the band's dedication, creativity and endurance. It's also a cult classic that has influenced many other bands and genres. The story behind the album is almost as interesting as the music itself. Sleep recorded Dopesmoker in 1996 after signing a major label deal with London Records. They spent their entire advance on vintage equip...

Redcore: the new daily driver

Hello, fellow Linux enthusiasts! Today I want to share with you my review of Redcore Linux , a Gentoo-based distro that promises to bring the power and flexibility of Gentoo to the masses. I have been using Redcore Linux for a few weeks now and I must say I am very impressed by its performance, stability and ease of use. Redcore Linux is a rolling-release distro that uses a hardened profile by default. This means it has enhanced security features and patches to protect against common vulnerabilities. It also has a preconfigured firewall and SELinux support. Redcore Linux comes with KDE Plasma 5 as the default desktop environment, which is sleek, modern and customizable. It also has a nice selection of applications for everyday use, such as Firefox, LibreOffice, VLC, GIMP and more. One of the main advantages of Redcore Linux is that it uses a binary package manager called Sisyphus. This means you don't have to compile everything from source code like in Gentoo, which can take ho...

Remembering Red Red Meat

The band experimented with different instruments, such as banjo, organ, and saxophone, and incorporated elements of lo-fi, country, and soul. The album was a masterpiece of sonic exploration and emotional depth. Some of the standout tracks include "Chain Chain Chain", "Gauze", and "Carpet of Horses". The band'...
